DJ Dizzy in the House
« on: February 20, 2011, 05:04:45 PM »
Back in high school I was always that friend that made everyone mixed tapes and tried to introduce new music to the group and even though I am now in my 30s I am still that person! So i thought i would start a thread to share some music with you all. I have rather eclectic taste and I am sure a lot of it most of you will know, but also hoping to maybe show you some music you have not heard before and maybe like (or not i really don't care i am sharing anyways  :th_smilie_bleh: ).

here is what I am listening to at this very moment to get things started.

Bo, I would have probably gotten around to sharing that Camile one, but you did yourself not too long ago on the other forum :P

Here is one that I like to listen to on the walk home from work (like I was doing just a few seconds ago) It's great to start releasing some of the stress of dealing with dumbasses at work to sing this in my head.

If anyone here watches Doctor Who they will recognize this song... The Master sang it in one episode after he had imprisoned The Doctor. (Yeah I am a bit of a Doctor Who nerd  :49_49: )

Listening to Rasputina right now.
This is a kinda cool group I found about 2 years ago. They are two cellos and just some mixed drums... I love their different sound. Because they have to stay rather stationary for the cellos they wear rather elaborate outfits on stage... lots of corsets and Nouveau Victorian things which appeals to my love of the Victorian era and Steampunk.

Was so lucky because last August they were in my city the day after my birthday and a wonderful friend brought me to see them as a present! Even better is they let you tape them and photograph them and we were right next to the stage!! like only 3 feet away from them. *sad sigh* but me... too used to all the rock concerts I have been to in my life didn't even think to bring in my camera because most bands don't let you photograph them so I didn't get any pictures. But it was still an awesome recital (they call their shows recitals to go along with the Victorian feel of everything).

From the past songs I get the impression that Dizzy is riding the very lip of insanity;)

Yeah that is another great one. Though there really is not a Silverchair song i don't like.

This is another one that was always a favorite of mine from them.

Something new i am positive none of you will have heard (other than Bo, because i always bombard him with music videos).
Duo called Soleil... The way I found out about them is the singer is a friend and they just launched their first album last month.

So are you saying that song was sung normally or not?
I have. She used to sing live at a club I worked as hostess at. She can sing normally, with a nice little Cole twist to it.
