What are the pros/cons of having a Mac vs a Windows or Linux system?

Again, these are I think some obvious things...but I have some minutes to spare, so I'll blather a little...

Mac Pros:
Marketed and optimized for the "let me do this simply and give me fabulous results" set.
This also makes it easy to learn - get very good results quickly with little effort.
Less market share = less opportunity for viruses and other malware.
Coooooooooool hardware.
Actually innovative (rather than simply buying innovators) as a rule.
Inexpensive basic tools for home; starter tools for business.
In my experience, way fewer hardware problems (and I have way more Mac hardware).
Excellent price/performance benefit on OS.
Based on Unix (as is Linux) - open source benefits (better security, stronger foundation).

Mac Cons:
Little business penetration (outside of the graphic arts field).
Less choice in software today.
Difficult "home computing" reputation limits business expansion.

True plug and play... literally. I plugged in my iMac and within a couple of minutes I was playing.  :frolic:

A lot more features in the OS that you actually use.

Very coooool hardware.

Don't require updating near as often as their Wintel counterparts, consequently they hold their value better.

On the negative side...

Not as wide a range in software (games especially).
